PROPORTIONAL- Upper House 2013
The Liberal Coalition had majority total of votes in the 2013 Federal Election and they have been in government since then. There was a total of 2.96% informal votes.
o Sen. Joe Bullock: was elected by preselection, so if you chose a party in the party chose way and not the exhaustive he is the candidate you are voting for.
o Sen. Jacqui Lambie: joined the Palmer United Party and won 6.6% of the vote, helped by a horde of preferences from parties such as the liberal democrats to the greens.
o Sen. Scott Ludlam: after the 1307 votes were lost in WA, after a recount Scott Ludlam from the Australian Greens Party, was elected.
o Sen. Ricky Muir(Australian Motoring Enthusiast Party)à elected for 17,122 first preference, when the quota was 483,076 votes. This was only possible through ‘above the line’ ticket voting

· No Gerrymandering in the 2013 election as the electorate dividing process was undertaken by the independent Australian Electoral Commision
· 5.92% of total votes were informal
· 74475 pre-poll votes were issued and only 1341 votes were submitted and sent back to be counted voting in the federal election
